The characterization of three new complexes was carried out using different analysis techniques such as elemental analysis, IR and UV-visible spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity and mass spectrometry. The empirical formula of the complexes was for HL1 and HL2 and for H元. Using microwave irradiation, the copper complexes were obtained in shorter reaction times. Using conventional heating copper(II) acetate dissolved in water, was slowly added in a stirred solution of the corresponding ligand HL1, HL2 and H元 in ethanol for 24 h at 70 ✬. The copper complexes of 4,6-diaryldihydropyrimidinones were prepared by refluxing mixture of copper(II) acetate and the corresponding 3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-thione in molar ratio (1:2). The potential use of these complexes have been attracted great interest due to their biological activity as antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antitumor agents. It has been established that the properties of coppercoordinated compounds are largely determined by the nature of ligands and donor atoms bound to the metal ion. Copper is an essential trace nutrient for organisms. However, microwave synthesis of coordination and organometallic compounds has been less explored.
